Had to leave my old blog!

  • Mood:
I had my blog over at Blogger and it just got to where I couldn't post on it and I couldn't comment on any other blogs, so I am back. Guess I never should have left.

Wanting some Fall Color!

  • Mood: super good

Finally, I'm back. I had my 02 eval. My oxygen saturation was 73% and my resting pulse was 27, lol. Hardly alive, I would say. Oh well, the 02 was ordered and it sure helps me sleep at night. I just didn't realize how oxygen deprived I was.

Also have my little red powerchair, (a jazzy), and I have yet to figure out how to make it go without bumping into everything.

Our days and nights have really been perfect. Lots of warm sunshine during the days and cool, brisk nights. Absolutely perfect Fall weather. I guess I would like it to stay this way all year.  Next month our temps will take a big dip down, usually around mid-november. Our furnace guy will be here on the 26th of this month, so that is good, I imagine we will need a little heat by then.

We rarely get the pretty autumn colors as the midwest and east but I wish we did. If we would go up into the Gila, we would see lots of Aspens, all golden yellow!  Also, they have some Apple Orchards up there. We use to do this drive, but no more as it is too stressful for us.

Hope life is treating everyone well and that you are enjoying this Fall.

Good Intentions

  • Mood: Good

Here I was going to blog on a regular basis and now it is October 1 and I havent been back here since the end of June. I do a regular posting on my Blogger Blog, but seem to forget this one.  Things are going along fairly well at our household. My health is slowly deteriorating and I am very slowly making plans for the day that I am unable to do all the things that I am used to doing. I have a powerchair coming Tuesday, and that will help me for when I get so tired everyday about 4 pm. My chair will let me fix dinner without feeling as if I am going to collapse.  Also, next week, I will hear how my Oxygen eval went. Doc seems to think that Oxygen will help give me more endurance.

Otherwise all is well. We had guests over the summer, (family) from California and we really enjoyed having them. .

What else?? Oh, I know, my daughter Phyllis bought me this really cool camera when she was here, but it wouldn't work for me today, must be the battery so I will get that checked out tomorrow when we go to Walmart. I wanted to take some photos of my cactus garden before we get a freeze. Most of the cactus stays green, but some of the succulents turn brownish.

I am so looking forward to getting my power wheelchair. The strange thing is, when the doc said I needed one, I was skeptical and that was only about 6 weeks ago and now it is obvious that it would really help me. At first, he said a scooter, that sounded like fun, but the P.T. Eval. said that my upper body strength was too weak. I am not a small person, and I think most folks would think that strange, but nonetheless, I must have the wheelchair instead. Oh well! I will let you all know how that goes.

I couldn't get my big dog Casey to come inside tonight. She has been wanting to be outside more and more at nights and that is ok with us for now, but won't work in about a month when the nights turn really cold. She is getting old and we have 2 new kittens who get on her nerves. Poor baby, I surely understand.

Hope everyone is feeling fine and enjoying the lovely Fall weather. Most everybody knows that I am not a fan of cold weather, but sooner or later, it is going to get cold, brrr.

Last day of June

  • Mood: Good

I have been absent from blogging for a while. Actually, I'm going to renew my domain and do my webpages again, perhaps in a smaller, more compact version. I miss playing around on my pages and having fun setting them up. I don't expect many if any visitors, but that's not what it is about. I just like to enjoy my own playthings, lol.

Seems that summer is going by just too quickly, especially for me. The monsoon season is here so our days are not quite so hot and the clouds help modify our high temps. We should be getting our thunderstorms in the evenings and the rain is always welcome here in the desert.

So, now I am going back to play with my web pages: Moni's Web.  Some of you may remember all those pages I had before; I expect not to have quite so many this time.  Talk with you all later.

Cinco de Mayo

  • Mood:

Normally I would be fixing a nice Mexican dinner today but I am upset with the illegals who continually cross our borders and nobody will do anything to stop it. The Border Patrol try, but the locals do not help in the least, and in fact will assist them whenever possible. Many family connections on both sides of the border. I don't think the politicians care one way or the other. Wish we had a govenor with a backbone like the one in Arizona.

Our temp hit 91F today with lots of sunshine. A truly beautiful day here in Deming, NM. Tomorrow should be another lovely day, except for some wind.

Finally summertime

  • Mood: good

Finally, at long last, it is summertime in Deming. The trees are green, even the mesquites. We had our furnace serviced for the remainder of the season and had our cooler serviced for this summer.

Our son came to visit last week and I still miss him. He had to get home as he has things to take care, but still, it was great having him here. He brought his little dog cookie, we enjoy having her too and she plays with our dogs.

I have a great hubby and he does the cutest things. He said today "I'm going to the store to pick up some ice cream". He came back with some bags of groceries among which were: A large pail of Blue Bunny Ice cream and two packages of cookies, a peach pie and some choc.candy for me. Can you believe it???  He is such a doll and he loves his desserts.

We do have a couple of coolish days coming up and then it will be warm, warm, warm. Hope Spring is treating all of you well. I love having my doors and windows open to let the fresh air inside.

  • Mood: happy

I went shopping this morning for items for my Easter dinner. We aren't having anyone except ourselves and our dogs, so I am keeping it fairly simple. I bought a small 10lb ham, some canned sweet potatos, stuff for a fruit salad and a potato salad and of course I will have veggies. I rarely buy canned sweet potatos, but since it is just the two of us, I decided to cut corners. Of course we will have colored eggs, just because.

We are having key lime pie for dessert as well as a chocolate cake.  We already have ice cream and cool whip.

I went to our local supermarket, Peppers, and I must have looked for 30 minutes for the marshmellows. I told the manager that every time I shop, they have moved stuff. I was frustrated.  Easter kind of snuck up on us this year and we didn't make any special plans. My son has been at our place for the past few years and it seems odd for him not to be here.

Our weather is predicted to be 80F, so that is really great. My Iris's are all abloom  Gotta go boil some of those eggs, first thing to make: potato salad!

Health Care Reform

  • Mood:

We are going to have a brand new Health Care Reform bill today. The President will sign it tomorrow into law. It has been a long haul, but, we have finally reached the goal of changing this Insurance heavy health care in this country. This is not a perfect bill, compromises were necessary, but we have a beginning and will be able to improve our health care by making amendments and changes to this basic bill.

We are enjoying a lovely sunny day here in Deming, NM. All next week should bring us more warm and sunny weather which we love. We have a new cactus nursery here in town and we will visit this week to maybe add something nice to our cactus garden.  Our Iris's are blooming and that just yells SPRING!

We wish all of you sunny, warm days and a happy Springtime.
